This deluxe four-LP box set of this great compilation was previously only available as a two-CD set. It includes four studio sides and four live sides along with a 12-page, 12" X 12" color booklet filled with pictures and an essay by Kurt Loder. This issue was compiled from the original analog masters and mastered and cut by Bernie Grundman on Classic's "all tube" stereo cutting system and pressed on 140-gram Red vinyl. These babies are RED HOT and include all the biggest songs – "Purple Haze," "Foxey Lady," "Stone Free" and all the rest.

Its all about being able to actually BUY a quality collectible that is as represented and arrives safely. I have collected LP's since 1976 and I have never seen a better LP packaging that what my last order arrived in. TRIPLE boxed. QUALITY = MY BUSINESS IS HERE. That says something. That was last week and I'm back already to buy more Vinyl. Thanks for you extra care.

Great Selection, Fair Pressings

This box set was produced by Experience Hendrix, which is owned by the Hendrix family, a fact which they make much of in the liner notes. With the family reputation on the line, you might expect a better quality product. One side of one record has a noisy left channel.

On the plus side, the selection is well considered, giving studio and live performances from throughout Jimi's career. Most of the best stuff is here, and the red vinyl is a hoot.

If you're going to own one Hendrix album, this would be a good bet.

Let Jimi's Voodoo Put a Spell on You

This collection came out on CD back in 2001 and was a great addition to any Hendrix fan's collection. A very-good sounding remaster to say the least. Now the exact same selection of tracks is available in separate red and black vinyl box sets. Each box contains four records in gorgeous color sleeves and a lavishly illustrated booklet. The overall package is simply a work of art.

The vinyl quality is first-rate.The red set records are translucent, very flat, very low-noise pressings (mine, ayway) whcich let the music shine through effortlessly. Voodoo Child should be heard on a really good phono system to appreciate the technical production of this set. As wonderful as the CD's sound, there just ain't no comparison! This release is an example of what analogue can be about and why good analogue will forever rule.
