Jane Monheit's Christmas a winner

Jane Monheit delivers a bell-clear, emotional & fun Christmas album, with fresh takes on old hits. Her "Merry Christmas Darling" is much more coy than Karen Carpenter's fine, familiar rendition; "Moonlight in Vermont" takes the listener to another time and place, and "Grown-Up Christmas List" makes one reflect on the reason for the season. Two-channel DVD-Audio sound is rich, crisp and very dynamic. The extra interviews appear staged, but it's interesting to hear the artist talk about her work and meet her in person. A real winner.
