More than 35 years after creating his own Bro record label, Peter Brotzmann, a renowned clarinet and saxophone player, has decided to revive Bro as an outlet to release special editions of some of his most personal projects. The Ink Is Gone documents Brotzmann's 2002 encounter with a true jazz legend, drummer Walter Perkins. As Brotzmann said from the bandstand, "It is a great pleasure and honor for me to play with this gentleman. He is history. He has played with all of my heroes, and I'm glad and grateful that I have this possibility." The music they played is marked by depth of beauty and animation rare even by the standards of both artists' extraordinary histories. Pressed on pristine 180-gram vinyl by RTI; artwork by Brotzmann; limited to 999 numbered editions.
