Mono Version
A Blue Note catalog mainstay from its debut in 1958, this was another early 12 inch originally released as mono only. Now transferred from the first-generation two-track stereo masters, the quintet sound is wide-open and spacious. The phrase all star does not begin to describe this recording collective. Complementing Clark's piano are Art Farmer on trumpet, Jackie McLean handling alto, and a rhythm section consisting of Paul Chambers on bass and Philly Joe Jones behind the drums.
