This release was mixed from the original 24 track tapes down to half-inch analog tapes from which the three LPs are cut.
After the 1975 release of Blood on the Tracks, Dylan decided to assemble an old-timey medicine show troupe of performers and mount the now historic tour. Originally to be called "Montezuma Revue" but was changed to Rolling Thunder Revue. It includes performances from Joan Baez with "Blowin' In The Wind" and "Mama," and Roger McGuinn who performs "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" with Joni Mitchell and Ramblin' Jack Elliott who add their vocals and guitar for support.
