Pink Floyd catalog back on vinyl, first time in two decades!

180-gram vinyl pressing

Mastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman

This September 2016, Pink Floyd are set to continue reintroduction of their back catalogue on vinyl with Atom Heart Mother, Meddle and Obscured By Clouds all remastered from the original analog master tapes. Previous reintroductions The Wall and The Division Bell are also back in stock on vinyl.

In a short break from touring Atom Heart Mother, in 1971 Pink Floyd released the experimental album, Meddle. The LP saw the band move their musical direction away from their original psychedelic sound, especially highlighted by the 23-minute track "Echoes" which occupies the entirety of the B-side of the record.

Solid Reissue

Great record. I'm personally burnt out on some the bigger selling Floyd records. Meddle is my favorite.

Good solid reissue. Perfectly flat and completely eye- clean. Does have a few more pops than I would have hoped. Hence the four stars. But, you won't find a better one for this price.

I like it!

I found myself physically rocking to "One of These Days" - the sound was so clear. There was no evidence of any distortion and, in previous versions, it always seemed like there was a sharp crackle somewhere in the song, or some dynamic spot was too much for my speakers to handle. Whatever it was, it is not evident on this record. The rest of the songs on side one sound as clear as the first, but the first song is the most impressive.

The second side just has the song "Echoes", which is 23 minutes of sonic bliss.

This album sounds superior to any version of the album that I've had, which consists of only the standard-issue CD, and now this record. Well, it is much better than the CD. I detected no tape hiss, and the inner grooves were well-behaved. Excellent job that continues the "new" legacy of the Pink Floyd label. As good as this album does sound, I think it's just a tick under "WYWH", "Animals" and "The Wall" (by the Pink Floyd label).
