It's taken a while, but this 1976 release has earned its place with the other great titles from the biggest rock band of that decade. Languishing for years in the intimidating strength of its predecessor (Physical Graffiti) Presence was quickly recorded and issued, mainly while vocalist Robert Plant sported a cast on his leg from a car accident. It's heavy on the rock side featuring high octane guitar from Jimmy Page and no acoustic guitars or keyboards to be found. John Bonham's thunderous bashing and layers of guitar are highlighted in “Achilles Last Stand” while “Nobody's Fault But Mine,” a reworking of a blues tune by Blind Willie Johnson gets goosed in the rear Zep-style by Page & Co. Other highlights include “For Your Life,” “Royal Orleans,” “Candy Store Rock,”, “Hots On For Nowhere” and “Tea Is For One”.

1.   Achilles Last Stand
2.   For Your Life
3.   Royal Orleans
4.   Nobody's Fault But Mine
5.   Candy Store Rock
6.   Hot on For Nowhere
7.   Tea For One

Very nice mastering, An analog format is my preference especially if given the choice between analog & standard CD resolution. Classic Records proves a point I had made decades ago, how vinyl records could sound if they took the time & money to do it right! Presence has always been one of my favorite Zeppelin albums and so it is a great pleasure to enjoy this Classic Records release. From the devastating attack of Achilles Last Stand through the desperation of Tea For One, I fell in love with this album all over again. I was fortunate enough to acquire a copy of this release and you should too before it's gone for good. It really is worth it.

Presence never sounded so good!

This is one of those rare cases where the reissue beats the original. I have a several copies of this album picked up cheap over the years and none of them come close to this! Another gem from classic records.

Very underated LZ LP

Wow, can't believe this is the first review here? If you are reading it you must be interested in whether this definitive version is worth it? YES, don't hesitate, I did and regretted it, thinking I could find a decent used original for $6. I did find a copy but it lacked the punch, detail and blackness. Classic has done an amazing job with all the LZ's so why not buy all of them. Even for the casual fan Presence holds it own very well.
